Donation Update!

Knitting For A Need just donated 29 scarves to the St. Marks Clothes Kitchen! St. Marks is located at 222 E Spring St, and the clothes closet has hours on Tuesday morning and Saturday morning.

Do you feel that in the air?

It's starting to get a little cool outside! While most of us are far from having to turn on our heaters and are still protected in our warm houses, let's remember that there are many out there who are not so lucky! Those who are currently without housing feel the affects of the changing weather way more than any of us.

Let's get our hooks and needles out and start making some hats and scarves for those in our area who need them the most!

At this time, we are currently accepting completed hats of all sizes, scarves, mittens and blankets.
The donated items will be split into three different places. A local church run clothes closet, a local elementary school with a high poverty rate and the local childrens hospital!

If you need me to come pick up your items send an email or leave a comment.

We will be meeting at Central Christian Church, 1315 E Spring St, New Albany, In 47150 from 6-8 on the following Sundays: October 4, 18th, November 1, 15, 29th December 13th and 27th.

Hello! Knitting For a Need will be meeting on:

August 9 and 23rd.

We meet at Central Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana at 6pm until about 8 pm

Busy, Busy, Busy

Whew!!! We've been working and recovering after going overtime this winter, but we wanted to pass along some follow up information about the Special Olympics Scarves.

We got an email from Coats and Clark and the Special Olympics received over 60,000 of these scarves! Way to kick butt all you knitters and crocheters out there!

Our next meeting will be on March 15 from 6-8 at Central Christian Church, 1315 E Spring St, in New Albany. We will be meeting upstairs in the parlor.

Project Update

Knitting for A Need will be mailing 37 scarves, either knitted or crocheted for the Special Olympics.
Knitting for A Need meets every other Sunday from 6-8 pm at Central Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana. Next meeting is Sunday, January 18, 2009.
